Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Donald Chartier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Quinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chartier comes into the arena with Disturbed - Stricken blaring out of the sound system. Jack Quinn told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donald Chartier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Quinn! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chartier throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Quinn sees it coming and avoids it easily. Quinn walks into a left hand. Chartier finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
And Quinn tries to counter it with a takedown but Chartier pushes his down on his head and steps out. Quinn tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Chartier defends well and Quinn ends up having to push Chartier into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Chartier works the jab nicely. Chartier lands an overhand right. Chartier ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters circle momentarily. Chartier darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Chartier tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Quinn was well out of range. Poor timing from Chartier. Quinn tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chartier misses with a looping left. And Quinn tries to counter it with a takedown but Chartier pushes his down on his head and steps out. Chartier thuds his right hand into Quinn's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Chartier pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nice uppercut there from Chartier. Donald Chartier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Quinn ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chartier moves away. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Chartier. Chartier swings widly with a right hand
so Quinn counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Quinn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Quinn with a nice head shot there. Quinn slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Quinn won't allow Chartier to get back to his feet. Quinn with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. This has been an exciting period of action! Quinn controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Chartier knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Quinn on the ground. It looks like Quinn might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quinn is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Quinn engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Quinn with a nice head shot there. Quinn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Quinn working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Chartier's head. Quinn slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Quinn tries to free his leg and advance position but Chartier is retaining full guard. Quinn is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Quinn advances position into side control! Chartier looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Quinn is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Chartier looks calm but he's in trouble here. Quinn gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Chartier is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Quinn lets go of the hold and Chartier can pop his arm back in it's socket.
