Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Nack! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Johnson ! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson with a lazy takedown attempt and Nack counters with a three punch combo that has Johnson backing up. Johnson nods at Nack to acknowledge the strikes. Nice uppercut lands for Nack. That snapped Johnson 's head back.
Nack tries to keep at a distance but Johnson has taken the fight into the clinch. Johnson controlling the action here for a moment.
Johnson tries to pull guard but Nack won't allow it.
Johnson jumps guard but Nack turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Nick Nack has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Johnson . We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nack prevents the takedown attempt.
Nack is pressed up against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Nack down to the mat. Nack avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Nack lands with an uppercut that bounces Johnson off the cage and back into range. Johnson misses with a takedown attempt and Nack connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nack lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Nack lunges at Johnson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Johnson 's hand. Nack lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Nack lands with a shot to the body. Johnson tries for a takedown but Nack circles away easily and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A punch lands to the side of Johnson 's head but he takes it in his stride. Nack is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Johnson fails with the takedown and Nack counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. The crowd cheers as Nack lands an impressive looking overhand right. Johnson doesn't seem phased though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nack scores with a nice strike.
Johnson is rocked! Nick Nack is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Johnson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Johnson with a lazy takedown attempt and Nack counters with a lovely straight right hand! Johnson is still on wobbly legs! Can Nack finish him? Johnson misses with a takedown and Nack counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Johnson looks winded! Johnson with a lazy takedown attempt and Nack counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Johnson to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Nack!
