Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Castor Rollins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stanley Burrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burrell has chosen Can't Touch This as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Castor Rollins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 36 - 19 - 2, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stanley Burrell !
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rollins misses with an uppercut.
Rollins just misses with a punch to the body.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Rollins, right into the meat.

Burrell rushes Rollins and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Stalling in the clinch from Rollins.
Rollins has Burrell pressed against the cage, preventing Burrell from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Burrell manages to break the clinch.
Rollins tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Burrell was well out of range. Poor timing from Rollins.

Rollins throws a nice inside leg kick.

Rollins lands a leg kick that knocks Burrell off balance momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burrell works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Rollins uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Burrell does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Burrell has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Rollins gets tackled into the cage by Burrell . Burrell maintains the clinch.

Burrell pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Burrell has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Rollins.
Castor Rollins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

I was talking to Rollins's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Burrell doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Rollins tries to work over Burrell 's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Rollins lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Burrell throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Rollins tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Burrell replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Rollins blocks it well.
A jab from Rollins misses.
Rollins dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rollins misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Burrell keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Rollins lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Rollins connects with a solid leg kick.
Rollins looks to score with a jab to the body but Burrell is just out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Good leg kick by Rollins there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rollins throws a head kick that misses.
Burrell thinks about the counter body kick.
Burrell has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Rollins.
Rollins throws a nice outside leg kick.
Burrell moves out of range of the leg kick from Rollins.
Rollins tries to clinch up.
Rollins connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Rollins throws a hook but Burrell avoids it easily.
Burrell tried to score with a low kick but Rollins checks it.
Burrell takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Burrell throws the left hand but Rollins avoids the punch easily.
Burrell throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Burrell keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Burrell throws a head kick but Rollins moves out of range.
Rollins throws a leg kick but Burrell sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Burrell stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rollins.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Castor Rollins dominated that round.
That's time! Rollins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Rollins tries to bum rush Burrell with a series of wild strikes but Burrell uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rollins is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Burrell can do to turn this around?
Burrell needs to keep his hands up - Rollins had a free shot at his head there.
Castor Rollins is winning the standup battle so far.
Rollins lands a big head kick that sends Burrell to the canvas! Rollins follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Castor Rollins!
A very excited looking Castor Rollins rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
