Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Medvedev gets the takedown into side control.
Medvedev throwing strikes but Makayata manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Makayata avoids the strikes from the bottom by Medvedev.
Medvedev throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Makayata wants to lay and pray for a moment but Medvedev keeps working.
Medvedev can't do much from the bottom here.
Medvedev is looking to regain half guard here but Makayata keeps moving and retains side control.
Medvedev throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Medvedev throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Medvedev looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Makayata controls Medvedev momentarily but Medvedev frees himself.
Medvedev is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Makayata has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Medvedev is looking to defend but Makayata has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Medvedev! Makayata pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Medvedev taps out and this one is all over!
