The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Hendrix connects with a single shot there. Hendrix throws a head kick that Jackson semi-blocks.
Jackson fails to land the takedown. Jackson darts in and clinches Hendrix up against the cage. Jackson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Hendrix has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Jackson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hendrix to keep the fight standing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hendrix throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hendrix is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Hendrix scores with a head kick. Jackson tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Hendrix tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jackson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hendrix somewhat. Jackson drives through and clinches with Hendrix against the cage.

Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with Hendrix, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes Hendrix against the cage but Hendrix circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Hendrix shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Tyler Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hendrix. Jackson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jackson wants it to stay on the feet. Jackson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

The crowd cheers as Hendrix lands an impressive looking overhand right. Jackson doesn't seem phased though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hendrix lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Hendrix is looking to land body kicks. Jackson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Hendrix. Hendrix forces Jackson back against the cage and clinches. Jackson jumps guard and drags Hendrix to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Jackson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hendrix loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hendrix accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hendrix in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hendrix with a flurry of punches that miss. Hendrix throws a big elbow that misses. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Hendrix doesn't manage to clinch there - Jackson circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hendrix's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Jackson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hendrix. Hendrix obviously looking to wear him down.
Hendrix gets caught napping as Jackson dives in and scores a takedown. Hendrix manages to retain guard. Jackson wants to stand but Hendrix has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Jackson trying to control but Hendrix is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson wanted to stand there but Hendrix had control of the position. Hendrix is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Jackson is fighting to break Hendrix's control of his arms but Hendrix is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jackson with a lazy takedown attempt and Hendrix counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Tyler Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ivan Hendrix is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hendrix feints a jab promting Jackson to slip. Hendrix then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jackson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
And that's the end of the fight! Ivan Hendrix showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hendrix, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
