PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Levi Lanke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tupac Shakur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shakur has chosen Ambitionz Az a Ridah as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lanke uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shakur.
Shakur misses with a hook
and Lanke counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Lanke has a takedown stuffed.
Lanke staying out of range there.
Lanke appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Lanke could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lanke has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Shakur finds it's way round the side to connect with Lanke's head.
Lanke goes for a double leg but Shakur avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Shakur continues to drive forward.
A nice side step and Shakur releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Shakur connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Shakur ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lanke moves away.
Lanke went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Lanke fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Levi Lanke. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lanke avoids the body shot from Shakur.
Lanke tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shakur swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Shakur misses with a looping right.
Lanke went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

and Shakur counters with a nice uppercut.
Shakur throws a predictable looking body shot
and Lanke counters with an outside leg kick.
Lanke shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shakur as he jumps to the side.
Shakur throws a body punch but Lanke moves out of range.
Both fighters circling a little - Lanke finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Lanke shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shakur but Shakur pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lanke takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Shakur punishes Lanke's body with a nice straight punch.
Lanke is breathing heavily.

Lanke closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shakur circles away.
Shakur looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Shakur tests Lanke's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Lanke bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Lanke is looking to clinch but Shakur is avoiding it.
Shakur is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Lanke with a body shot.
Shakur scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lanke doesn't seem bothered though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shakur throws a good cross that connects.
Lanke walks into a straight right hand from Shakur.

Lanke is rocked!
Shakur swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lanke shoots in but no luck this time.
Shakur throws out a counter right but Lanke avoids it with no problem.
Lanke walks into a stiff left hand from Shakur.
Oh Lanke is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Shakur sends Lanke crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Shakur is motioning to the referee to let Lanke up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Shakur cracks Lanke with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Lanke tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Shakur pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Lanke is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tupac Shakur!
