Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tryos Cosmo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Davids (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jake Davids is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tryos Cosmo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Davids!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Davids looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Davids is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Davids tries to clinch up.
Cosmo shoots in for a takedown but Davids shows good takedown defense.
Cosmo stuffs the takedown attempt from Davids. Davids gets slowly back to his feet.

Davids closes the distance and clinches.
Cosmo blocks an elbow strike from Davids.
Cosmo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Davids scores with a shot to the side of Cosmo's head.

Cosmo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Davids won't allow Cosmo to sweep him here.
Cosmo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Davids controls the pace.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cosmo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Davids is fending him off so far but Cosmo persists. Nope, Davids circles away and we're back to standing.

Cosmo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davids's waist but Davids gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cosmo off to one side.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Davids rushes Cosmo and presses him up against the ropes.

Davids unloads a knee to the mid-section. Cosmo lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Davids's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Davids throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Cosmo's head.

Davids darts in and clinches Cosmo up against the ropes.

Cosmo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Davids fails with a takedown attempt.
Davids tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Davids tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Davids rushes Cosmo and presses him up against the ropes.
Davids connects with a nasty looking knee right to Cosmo's face.

Davids manages to break the clinch.

Cosmo instigates a clinch.
Cosmo wants to get back to striking at distance but Davids won't allow it.
Davids crunches a lovely knee into Cosmo's ribcage.

Davids drags the fight down to the ground.

Cosmo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Davids is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cosmo, into his guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cosmo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Davids gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Davids sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cosmo's guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Davids in particular looking to stall.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cosmo has a hand on Davids's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Davids takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Davids takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Cosmo is trying to escape the mount.
Davids controlling the pace for now.

Davids can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cosmo is looking to escape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cosmo bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Despite being in the dominant position, Jake Davids just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jake Davids showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cosmo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davids swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Davids tries to clinch but Cosmo moves out of range.
Cosmo shoots in looking for a takedown. Davids tries to sprawl out of it but Cosmo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Davids manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tryos Cosmo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cosmo tries to pull guard but Davids holds him up against the ropes and eventually Cosmo drops back down to his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cosmo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Cosmo is trying to work for a kimura but Davids is defending well.
Davids is not content to let Cosmo control the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Cosmo is looking for a kimura but Davids is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cosmo to get the leverage.
Cosmo prevents Davids from standing back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Cosmo keeps the fight on the outside.

Davids has taken the fight to the clinch.
Davids connects with a nasty looking knee right to Cosmo's face.
Davids is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Cosmo is keeping busy.

Cosmo ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cosmo no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Jake Davids is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Davids has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
