Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonston Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christopher Maine! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson fails with a takedown attempt. Johnson fails with the takedown. Maine has taken the fight to the clinch.
Maine tries to land a knee to the head but Johnson blocks with his arms.
Johnson pulls guard effortlessly. Maine sitting in guard here, content to control. Johnson looking for a sweep. Not yet Johnson, not yet. Johnson is working hard here to advance position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Johnson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonston Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson pushes Maine up against the ropes in a clinch. Maine with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Maine using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Johnson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Johnson jumps guard but Maine stands there with Johnson around his waist. Johnson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Maine avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Johnson. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Johnson trying to control the action but Maine is working from the bottom. Johnson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Maine is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson tries to advance to mount but can't. Maine tries to get back to half guard but can't. Maine pushes Johnson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Johnson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Johnson tries to move to mount but Maine blocks the move with his legs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jonston Johnson will probably get the nod. That's time! Johnson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Johnson tries for a takedown but Maine sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Johnson has a takedown stuffed. Maine tries to clinch but fails miserably so Johnson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Maine wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Johnson manages to pass to side control. Johnson stalling away here and it's allowed Maine to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson looking to pass the guard. Johnson stands and steps away. Maine gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Nice sprawl there from Maine as Johnson shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonston Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Maine but Maine pushes him off and we're back to square one. Johnson shoots in but Maine avoids the takedown attempt easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Maine darts in trying to clinch and Johnson counters with a takedown into side control. Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Maine keeps working. Johnson looking to control but instead Maine has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Johnson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Maine knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Johnson is looking for a kimura but Maine is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Johnson to get the leverage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Johnson tries to stand and escape but Maine is controlling the position. Maine is trying to control but Johnson passes into side control!

The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Christopher Maine is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Johnson shoots in and drives through. Maine sprawls well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jonston Johnson dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Maine sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Johnson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Maine's guard. Maine uses the ropes to get back to his feet.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Maine stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet. Johnson throws a leg kick but Maine sees it coming and checks it nicely. Johnson looks for a takedown but Maine sprawls well. Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Maine, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Maine against the ropes but Maine circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Maine clinches but Johnson breaks the clinch and Johnson counters with a takedown into side control. Maine is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Maine is trying to control Johnson's posture but Johnson avoids it. Johnson wants to control but Maine is keeping him busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Johnson seems to be working for a kimura but Maine defends the submission attempt.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Johnson shoots in but no luck this time. Maine looks to clinch so Johnson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Jonston Johnson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Johnson trying to control but Maine is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Jonston Johnson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Johnson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
