Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Piet Kriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Piet Kriel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Lee!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Dmitry Maklakov and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kriel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lee.
Kriel jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

Lee instigates a clinch.
Lee misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kriel.

Kriel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lee tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Kriel counters with a takedown into side control.
Lee tries to buck Kriel off but Kriel is having none of it.

Kriel looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Lee is looking to regain half guard here but Kriel keeps moving and retains side control.
Lee is trying to strike from the bottom but Kriel has passed into full mount.
Kriel prevents Lee from getting the reversal.
Kriel can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lee is looking to escape.

Lee in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Kriel jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Lee manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Lee tries to bench press Kriel off him but Kriel keeps the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kriel trying to control the action but Lee is working from the bottom.
Lee is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Kriel is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Kriel wants to control the pace but Lee is squirming around nicely.

Kriel fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Kriel trying to control but Lee is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lee sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Kriel is pressing down on Lee's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lee is holding on for now.
Lee tries to roll over but Kriel keeps him under control.
Kriel wants to control but Lee is keeping him busy.
Kriel is controlling the pace.
Lee is refusing to be controlled, as Kriel sits in half guard.

Kriel is trying to work for a kimura but Lee is defending well.
Kriel is pressing down on Lee's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lee is holding on for now.
Lee wants to get back to full guard.

Kriel is working for a kimura but Lee is defending it quite comfortably.
Lee throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lee is not content to let Kriel control the position.
Lee wants to get back to full guard.

Kriel is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Lee tries to roll over but Kriel keeps him under control.
Kriel trying to mount his opponent but Lee defends it.
Kriel wants to take a breather but Lee is having none of it.

Lee manages to get to full guard.
Kriel won't allow Lee to sweep him here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kriel not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Piet Kriel dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


A looping hook to the body misses from Lee. Kriel does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kriel is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lee can do to turn this around?

Kriel closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lee's guard.
Kriel tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard.
Kriel trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kriel is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lee looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kriel is one step ahead there.
Piet Kriel overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lee keeping moving, preventing Kriel from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kriel is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Lee has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Kriel is looking to defend but Lee has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Kriel! Lee pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Kriel taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Thomas Lee!
An out of breath Thomas Lee thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
