Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spike Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Ethan Davidson has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Ethan Davidson seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ethan Davidson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Spike Franklin! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franklin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Davidson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Franklin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Davidson. An attempted straight right counter from Davidson misses the target. Davidson closes the distance and clinches. Davidson has Franklin pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Franklin manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Davidson managing to block the knees to the body from Franklin.
Davidson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Franklin drops down looking for an ankle pick but Davidson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Franklin throws a low kick but it's checked well by Davidson. Davidson appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Franklin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davidson tries to avoid it but Franklin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davidson to the ground. Davidson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Franklin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Davidson, pushing him back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Davidson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Franklin pulls his leg out and moves away.
Franklin throws a head kick but Davidson moves out of range.
Franklin connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Davidson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Franklin was well out of range. Poor timing from Davidson. Davidson rushes Franklin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Davidson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davidson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Franklin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ethan Davidson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Davidson wants the takedown. Franklin is fighting it off but Davidson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Franklin's guard against the cage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Franklin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Davidson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Franklin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Davidson is one step ahead there. Franklin pulls Davidson in to control the position. Davidson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Franklin tries to land a sweep but no joy. Franklin doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Franklin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Davidson stands up from Franklin's guard - Davidson perhaps looking for a knockout. Franklin tries to close the distance and clinch but Davidson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davidson closes the distance and pushes Franklin back into the cage. Davidson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Franklin.
Davidson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Davidson manages to end up in side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Franklin is looking for a sweep. Franklin tries to strike but it doesn't land. Davidson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Franklin is trying to get back to half guard. Franklin is still trying to improve position. Franklin looks winded! Davidson takes a little break here. Franklin wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Franklin is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Davidson is controlling him well. Davidson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Franklin to his feet. Davidson has Franklin up against the cage in a clinch.

Franklin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Davidson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Davidson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Franklin was well out of range. Poor timing from Davidson. Spike Franklin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Franklin has a takedown stuffed. Franklin misses with a kick to the body.
Davidson ducks under a wild hook from Franklin. Davidson half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Davidson throws a combination. Franklin tries to block but a couple of punches get through. No luck for Franklin with that takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davidson clinches up against the cage. Davidson wants a takedown.
Franklin goes for a takedown attempt but Davidson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Franklin fails to land with a series of punches.
Davidson feinted with a counter takedown. Davidson has managed to clinch.
Davidson is working for takedown but Franklin is calmly controlling the position for now. Davidson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Franklin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Davidson manages to break the clinch.
Davidson misses with a body shot.
Franklin closes the distance looking to clinch letting Davidson counter with a right hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ethan Davidson dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Franklin darts in looking for a takedown but Davidson gets double underhooks and turns Franklin into the cage. Davidson is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Franklin tries to clinch up. Franklin moves into the clinch. Franklin breaks from the clinch.
Davidson instigates a clinch. Davidson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Davidson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Franklin can do to turn this around? Franklin ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Franklin no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Franklin keeping moving, preventing Davidson from controlling successfully. Davidson postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davidson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Franklin, up you get! Franklin throws a right hand that Davidson ducks under and follows up with a left that Davidson also avoids with ease. Franklin is breathing heavily. Franklin looks for a takedown but Davidson sprawls well. Ethan Davidson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Spike Franklin. Franklin gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Davidson. Franklin fails in his attempt to clinch. Davidson swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Davidson closes the distance and clinches. Franklin jumps guard but Davidson stands there with Franklin around his waist. Franklin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Franklin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Davidson is looking to escape. Franklin controlling from mount. Franklin avoids the attempt from Davidson to control. Franklin prevents Davidson from getting the reversal. Davidson wants to hold on but Franklin pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Davidson holds on to Franklin around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks. Franklin with the ground and pound from mount. Davidson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Franklin trying to control but he's not successful this time. Franklin lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Davidson is looking to improve his position but Franklin isn't that keen on the idea. Davidson is squirming around, avoiding Franklin's attempts to control the action. Davidson is trying to stand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Spike Franklin will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Davidson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Franklin tries to clinch but fails miserably and Davidson counters with a right hand to the body. Franklin fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Davidson rushes Franklin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Davidson breaks from the clinch.
Davidson throws a looping overhand right but Franklin ducks down to avoid it. Franklin doesn't succeed with the takedown and Davidson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A low kick from Franklin is predictable there and Davidson counters with a left and a right that stings Franklin. Franklin dives in and scores a takedown into Davidson's guard. Davidson is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Ethan Davidson has scored more points in the clinch so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Franklin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Davidson is trying to drag Franklin to the mat but Franklin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Davidson tries a knee to the head but Franklin blocks it.

Davidson has Franklin pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Davidson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Franklin tumbling to the mat - Davidson dives into Franklin's guard. Davidson gets to his feet - Franklin follows without any prompting. Franklin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davidson gets full guard. Davidson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Franklin trying to control but Davidson is working from the bottom. Davidson trying to keep a closed guard but Franklin is proving a slippery customer.
Davidson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Davidson looking for a sweep. Not yet Davidson, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davidson pulls Franklin in close to prevent any damage. Davidson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Franklin wants to control from the top but Davidson keeps moving. Franklin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Davidson's head. Spike Franklin has got the better of the ground game so far. Davidson looking to control.
Davidson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Franklin has passed into side control.
You can see the frustration on Davidson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Franklin wants to control but Davidson is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Davidson being controlled for a moment. Davidson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Davidson works his way to full guard. Good work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Davidson is looking to sweep but instead, Franklin has passed into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Ethan Davidson showed his dominance in that final round. I think Davidson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
