Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jari Byczynski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Manu Tuilagi!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Byczynski there.
Byczynski looks to score with a jab to the body but Tuilagi is just out of range.

Jari Byczynski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tuilagi doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

I was talking to Byczynski's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tuilagi throws a sloppy strike and Byczynski uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Byczynski has ended up in Tuilagi's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tuilagi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Byczynski throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Byczynski lands a right hook to the body.
Byczynski slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Tuilagi crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Byczynski - the referee stops the clock and Tuilagi gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Byczynski. Tuilagi manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Byczynski lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Byczynski, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
