Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Milton Alves! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davison fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Alves shoots and misses and Davison counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Davison missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Davison decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Davison takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Davison keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Davison rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alves moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Davison slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Chris Davison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Davison tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Davison tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alves swats him away and circles back towards the center. Alves is breathing heavily. Davison is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Davison doesn't succeed with the takedown and Alves counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Davison's guard now. Davison has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Alves can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Davison looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alves is one step ahead there. Alves drops back looking for a leg! Davison is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Davison manages to kick Alves off! Alves jumps back into Davison's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davison pulls Alves in close to prevent any damage. Alves won't allow Davison to get back to his feet. Alves trying to control but Davison is working from the bottom. Chris Davison overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Alves stops Davison from standing up. Davison pushes Alves off and scrambles back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Davison gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Alves counters with a single leg into guard. Davison didn't expect that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Davison. That's going to take a lot out of him. Davison has Alves pulled in close to control his posture. Alves stopping the sweep attempt from Davison. Davison has his hands on Alves's head, controlling the position. Alves prevents Davison from getting back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davison keeping moving, preventing Alves from controlling successfully. Alves thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Davison is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Alves trying to control the position from guard on top but Davison is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Davison throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Davison is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Davison looks for a takedown but Alves sprawls well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Chris Davison will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Alves is looking to reverse the position. Davison wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Alves, who protects the arm well. You can see the frustration on Alves's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves tries to bench press Davison off him but Davison keeps the position. The referee asks Davison politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Davison prefers to stall for the moment though.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Davison closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Davison lands in his opponent's guard. Davison wants to stand but Alves has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Alves can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Davison controls the pace. Davison stands and steps away. Alves gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Alves keeps the fight on the outside.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. A nice elbow there by Davison. Alves wants to hold on but Davison pushes him away. Davison working away from the top, dropping strikes. Alves swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
