Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Murray Estes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kyle Mort!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Estes throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mort tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Estes is in Mort's guard.
Estes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Mort working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Estes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Estes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mort is on top in guard.

Estes has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Estes has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mort postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Estes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mort is one step ahead there.
Mort missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mort won't allow Estes to get back to his feet.
Estes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mort slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Estes controls Mort momentarily but Mort frees himself.
Estes wants to improve his position but instead Mort has moved into half guard.
Estes wants to get back to full guard.
Mort missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Mort has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Estes is looking for a sweep. Mort is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mort takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Mort stands up and beckons Estes to join him on the feet.

Mort closes the distance and clinches.
Estes tries to score a body lock takedown but Mort shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Estes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Some bone on bone action there as Estes checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
A clash of legs there as Estes blocks the low kick.

Mort clinches up with Estes and pushes him back against the cage.

Estes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mort jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Estes tries to counter by clinching up but Mort breaks away and moves out of range.
Mort misses with the combination.
Estes attempts a counter takedown but Mort avoids it well and moves away.
Estes avoids the head kick by Mort.
Estes lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Estes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mort throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Mort with a poor takedown

and Estes counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Estes.
Mort tries to pull guard but Estes holds him up against the cage and eventually Mort drops back down to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Estes has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Estes wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mort fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Murray Estes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Mort.

Estes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Estes gets caught flat footed, as Mort shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Estes has momentary wrist control but Mort slips an elbow through the middle.
Estes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Estes wants to sweep but no luck.
Mort showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
It looks like Mort might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Mort missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Estes keeping moving, preventing Mort from controlling successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Estes avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Mort tries to free his leg and advance position but Estes is retaining full guard.
Mort trying to control the position from guard on top but Estes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mort pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Estes is keeping the position for now.
Estes lands with a heel strike from the guard.
Estes keeping moving, preventing Mort from controlling successfully.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Mort is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Estes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mort with the counter takedown but Estes avoids it easily.
Estes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Estes wants it to stay on the feet.
Estes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kyle Mort dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Mort shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Estes pinned against the cage. Estes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Mort gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Estes to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Mort has a closed guard, preventing Estes from standing up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Estes stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Mort has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Estes manages to get his head free but now Mort has transitioned to an armbar! Estes grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Mort! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
