Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Davvy Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fredric Delgado! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones takes the fight into the clinch. Jones is pressed up against the cage. Delgado has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jones down to the mat. Jones avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Delgado shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one. Delgado looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Delgado is pushing down on Jones's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jones is fighting to maintain full guard but Delgado has managed to sneak the leg through. Delgado content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Jones could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Delgado is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones trying to control but Delgado postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Delgado perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Delgado is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Delgado eventually gives up the hold. Jones is refusing to be controlled, as Delgado sits in half guard. Jones wants to get back to his feet.

Delgado wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy. Delgado is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jones defends it well. Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Jones is kicking away at Delgado from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Delgado grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Jones trying to push Delgado off... Jones taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
