The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bohn darts in looking for a takedown but Lax gets double underhooks and turns Bohn into the cage.

and Bohn counters with a nice leg kick.

Bohn closes the distance and clinches up with Lax, looking for a takedown. Bohn pushes Lax against the cage but Lax circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lax throws a big counter head kick but Bohn avoids it with no problem.
Bohn displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lax.

Bohn stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bohn is on top in guard.
Bohn wants to get up but he can't break Lax's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lax has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bohn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bohn fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lax avoids it really well and circles away.

and Bohn holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Bohn dives in for a single leg takedown but Lax sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Bohn shoots in looking for a takedown. Lax tries to sprawl out of it but Bohn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lax manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lax tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
