Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Tanner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tanner is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Cleveland Rocks. Shane Tanner is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcus Miller!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shane Tanner!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Illya Tyunina and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanner shoots for a takedown but Miller saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Tanner gets a takedown into half guard.
Miller moves into full guard.
Tanner trying to control but Miller is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tanner with a flurry of punches that miss.
Tanner throwing strikes from guard but Miller blocks nicely.
Tanner tries to free his leg and advance position but Miller is retaining full guard.
Miller pulls Tanner in close to prevent any damage.
Tanner won't allow Miller to get back to his feet.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Miller is on top in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Tanner pushes Miller away with a front kick.
Miller dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Miller cracks Tanner with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.


It looks like Shane Tanner has been cut.
Miller looks to land a right hand but Tanner moved out of range.

Miller is pushing Tanner up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Tanner shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Miller will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Tanner has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Tanner closes the distance and clinches up with Miller, looking for a takedown. Tanner pushes Miller against the cage but Miller circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Tanner has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Tanner there as he acknowledges the shot.

Tanner throws a leg kick which misses Miller's front leg but catches the back leg as Miller tries to avoid it.
Tanner slips a jab and a cross from Miller.
Tanner needs to keep his hands up - Miller had a free shot at his head there.
Tanner moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Miller stuns Tanner with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Tanner cracks the inside of Miller's front leg.
Tanner thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Miller if he has to take too many more of those.
Miller throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Tanner feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Tanner throws a right and a left that Miller avoids nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tanner.

Tanner takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Miller lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Tanner backs up against the cage.


The cut above Shane Tanner's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Miller throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Miller is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Miller throws out a leg kick but Tanner moves out of range and Miller only half commits.
Tanner avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Tanner bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Tanner gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Tanner tries to land knees in the clinch but Miller avoids the damage to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Tanner tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Miller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Tanner moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Tanner decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Miller seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Shane Tanner's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Tanner with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Miller to score with a decent uppercut.

Tanner takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Tanner shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Miller pinned against the cage. Miller gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Tanner looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Miller with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Miller scores with a sloppy right hand. Tanner should have avoided that one.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Shane Tanner's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Marcus Miller!
