Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brick Donovan!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Donovan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Abbott to the ground. Donovan is now in Abbott's guard.
Abbott keeping moving, preventing Donovan from controlling successfully.
Donovan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Donovan connects with a couple of short punches.
Donovan is looking to work some ground and pound but Abbott has wrist control.

It looks like Jeffery Abbott has been cut.
Donovan trying to control but Abbott is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Donovan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Donovan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Abbott manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Donovan has Abbott in his guard.

Abbott is looking to work some ground and pound but Donovan has wrist control.
Abbott trying to control the position from guard on top but Donovan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Abbott could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Donovan has his feet on Abbott's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Abbott is looking to break free of the clinch but Donovan has double underhooks.

Abbott ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Abbott no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Donovan stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Abbott has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Donovan manages to get his head free but now Abbott has transitioned to an armbar! Donovan grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Abbott! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
