Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Asharad Hett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Rodri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Asharad Hett has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodri looks to land a combination but Hett avoids it well.
Hett has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Bonsai Club MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Rodri misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Hett shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Hett is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hett lands with a punch from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hett working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Hett wants to work for an arm triangle but Rodri is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Hett looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rodri with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Rodri pushes Hett off looking to stand but Hett dives back in and keeps control.
Hett wants to pass to mount but Rodri is defending the position.
Hett works his way into side control.

Hett tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hett has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Rodri is not content to let Hett control the position.

Rodri manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hett's best efforts.

Rodri is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Hett jumps into side control!
Hett is looking to take a break and control but Rodri is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

It looks like Jose Rodri has been cut.
Hett looks up at the clock and then as Rodri takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hett smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Rodri wants to control but Hett postures up.
Rodri is not content to let Hett control the position.

The cut above Jose Rodri's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Hett in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Hett thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Hett wants to control but Rodri is keeping him busy.
Rodri holds on to Hett's head and controls the position momentarily.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hett working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Rodri misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
It looked like Hett was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Rodri.
Hett tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rodri will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hett swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Asharad Hett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Rodri.
