Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gary Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randy Palmer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gary Jack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Randy Palmer!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palmer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Palmer looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Jack is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Palmer's half guard.
Jack knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Palmer on the ground.

and Jack finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Palmer has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Jack is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Palmer's coach down at Island Top Team was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Palmer's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Palmer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jack sprawls well. Jack wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Palmer gets slowly back to his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Gary Jack will probably get the nod.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jack is defended easily by Palmer.
Jack tries to close the distance and clinch up but Palmer swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Palmer throws a combination. Jack tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Jack tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Palmer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jack.

Jack shoots in looking for a takedown but Palmer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jack's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Palmer is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Jack tries to score a power double leg takedown but Palmer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jack somewhat.

A nice right hand lands inside from Palmer.
Palmer has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Jack pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jack shoots in looking for a takedown but Palmer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jack's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Palmer misses with a two punch combination.
Palmer steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Jack. That one must have hurt.
Jack closes this distance looking for a takedown but Palmer circles away.

Jack closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jack lands in his opponent's guard.

Palmer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jack gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jack tries to stand but Palmer is controlling from the bottom.

Palmer working for a triangle but Jack defends it easily.

Palmer looking for a sweep. Not yet Palmer, not yet.
Jack wants to pass the guard but Palmer is keeping the position.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jack wants to control from the top but Palmer keeps moving.

Randy Palmer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Palmer changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Jack misses with a head kick.
Palmer shoots in but no luck this time.
Jack slaps away a takedown attempt from Palmer, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jack wants to clinch up but Palmer keeps it at a distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jack.

and Jack counters by clinching up.
Palmer on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Jack fails to pull guard.
Palmer blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Jack is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Palmer to keep the fight standing.
Jack tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Palmer smiles and moves away.
Palmer lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Palmer.

Jack throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Jack with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Jack takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Palmer keeps the fight on the outside.
A punch combination from Jack misses.
Palmer is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Palmer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jack misses with a takedown attempt - Palmer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Palmer looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Palmer fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jack, pushing him back against the cage.

Jack is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Palmer to keep the fight standing.
Jack jumps guard but Palmer stands there with Jack around his waist. Jack gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Palmer is looking to break free of the clinch but Jack has double underhooks.

Jack has clasped his hands together around Palmer's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Palmer throws Jack to one side and escapes!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Palmer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jack is fending him off so far but Palmer persists. Nope, Jack circles away and we're back to standing.
Jack tries to clinch but Palmer moves out of range.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Randy Palmer.
I think Palmer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
