Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pius Ho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Junior Cross!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross instigates a clinch.
Cross is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Ho can't fight it off and eventually Cross manages to take the fight to the floor. Ho looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ho manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Ho's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cross clinches with his opponent.
Cross has clasped his hands together around Ho's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ho is trying to control Cross's posture but Cross avoids it.
Cross tries to stand but Ho is controlling his head.
Cross looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Cross tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cross has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Cross thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Ho holds on to Cross's head and controls the position momentarily.
Cross is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ho is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Cross has an Americana. Ho didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Cross is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Cross hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Junior Cross!
