Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between daniel micheals (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Shannigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shannigan has chosen Pantera - Slaughtered as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

micheals shoots in looking for a takedown. Shannigan tries to sprawl out of it but micheals keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Shannigan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and micheals counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Shannigan is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Shannigan steps into range and cracks micheals with a monster punch that buckles his knees! micheals flops backwards and Shannigan dives into his guard looking to finish!

Shannigan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed micheals's guard.
Shannigan is trying to control. micheals wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Shannigan seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
