Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bk Returns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Cornell!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cornell stuffs the takedown.
Cornell throws a front kick aimed at Returns's knee but Returns avoids it well.
Cornell throws a combination. Returns tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Returns clinches up with Cornell and pushes him back against the cage.
Returns escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Returns tries to clinch up but Cornell circles away and keeps his distance.
Returns throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Cornell closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Cornell is stalling here.
Returns breaks from the clinch.
Cornell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Returns moves away.
Cornell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Returns lands an overhand right.
Cornell defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Returns.
As Returns backs off Cornell throws a huge counter combo but Returns manages to avoid it all.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Returns darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Returns throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Returns trying to control from half guard but Cornell is working away.
Returns thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cornell's head.
Returns thows a huge punch but Cornell dodges it nicely.
Returns tries to stand and escape but Cornell is controlling the position.
Cornell avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Returns.
Returns lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Cornell keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Returns is trying for a kimura here. Cornell looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Returns wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bk Returns!
