Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jay Lilke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caine Markiewicz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Markiewicz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Lilke is looking for a triangle but Markiewicz pushes his legs off easily.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Markiewicz connects with a nice short shot to Lilke's temple.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Markiewicz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lilke's guard.

Lilke has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Markiewicz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lilke doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Markiewicz counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Lilke utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Markiewicz drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lilke dives on top into guard.

Lilke isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Markiewicz stacks Lilke on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Markiewicz!

Well Markiewicz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
