PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mamoru Date (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the ring it seems that Mamoru Date has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Mamoru Date seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mamoru Date!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Parker!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Date has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Parker uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Date.
Parker tries to counter with a clinch but Date shakes him off and moves away.
Parker has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Parker walks into a left hand.
A looping hook to the body misses from Date. Parker does a little dance to reset his feet.

Parker tries to keep at a distance but Date has taken the fight into the clinch.
Parker tries to circle away but Date has him pinned against the ropes.
Date slowing the pace effectively.
Date is leaning against Parker and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Parker jumps guard but Date stands there with Parker around his waist. Parker gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Parker tries a body shot but Date blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Date pushes Parker back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Date tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Date lands a right hand.
Parker wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Parker takes a shot to the head.

Parker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Date lands with a shot to the body.
Parker displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Date throws out the jab.
Parker wants to counter the offense by Date and move into the clinch position.
Date misses with a looping left.
Date throws an overhand right that lands on Parker's shoulder, as Parker tries to avoid the shot.
Date scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Parker doesn't seem bothered though.
Parker ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Date moves away.

Parker clinches with his opponent.
Date lands an uppercut.
Parker trying to control the position but instead, Date has worked for underhooks and has pushed Parker into the ropes.
Date lands a left hand.
Date softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes.
Parker is trying to maintain a safe position but Date gets an underhook and turns Parker into the ropes.
Date lands a shoulder strike.


Parker is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A nice left hand lands by Date.
Parker is still on wobbly legs! Can Date finish him?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Date tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Date effectively controlling the action here.

Date lands a left hand.
Date blocks the elbow strike.
Date prevents Parker from breaking the clinch.
Date lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Date creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Parker with a big uppercut! Parker tries to clinch up but Date pushes him back against the ropes and lands another monster strike that crumples Parker to the mat! Parker covers up and Date unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Mamoru Date!
David Parker was interviewed post fight and said 'It was a Hard fought fight between me and my opponent, I wish him the best in his future fights and i can promise my next fight will be better than this one'.
