The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fawkes rushes Spooner and presses him up against the cage.
Fawkes lands a left hand that snaps the head of Spooner backwards.

Fawkes manages to break the clinch.

Fawkes moves into range and clinches up with Spooner.
Fawkes misses with some punches.

Fawkes lands a left hand.
Fawkes lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Spooner wants to get back to striking at distance but Fawkes won't allow it.
Fawkes lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Fawkes.
Fawkes softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Spooner wants to break free but Fawkes has control.

Fawkes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Fawkes drives through and clinches with Spooner against the cage.

Still in the clinch, Fawkes scores with a nice short uppercut.
Spooner is trying to break the clinch but Fawkes has him pressed against the cage.

Fawkes drops Spooner onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Spooner is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Spooner is rocked!
Fawkes throws a big uppercut that drops Spooner! More strikes from Fawkes and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Spooner lies dazed against the cage as Fawkes celebrates with his cornermen!
