Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Alvey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edu SI (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Ben Hemmingworth and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvey misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
SI misses with a jab, cross combination.
Alvey shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with SI but SI pushes him off and we're back to square one.
SI getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Alvey fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. SI sprawls well initially but Alvey persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alvey is looking for a kimura but SI is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Alvey to get the leverage.
SI really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alvey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Alvey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Alvey doesn't manage to clinch there - SI circles away.
SI lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Alvey slips a jab and a cross from SI.
SI stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and SI wants it to stay on the feet.

Alvey has closed the distance and engaged SI in a clinch.

Alvey is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and SI counters with a three punch combo that has Alvey backing up. Alvey nods at SI to acknowledge the strikes.

A close second round but Edu SI will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Alvey is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
SI cracks Alvey with a right hand to the side of the head.
Alvey takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
SI throws a series of punches but Alvey avoids them all with ease.
SI misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
SI swings away with a body shot that misses

and Alvey counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Alvey.
Alvey is standing up over SI. SI looks to escape but Alvey dives into side control.


Alvey thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
