Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Cooper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 17 - 4, fighting out of Hilo, Freddy White! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cooper cracks White with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. A jab from Cooper finds it's way through White's defenses. A swing and a miss from Cooper. White with the counter takedown but Cooper avoids it easily. Cooper takes one to the side of the head.
Cooper looks to land a right hand but White moved out of range. Cooper misses with a hook. White ducked under it nicely. Cooper takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. White pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cooper throwing a counter right hand but White manages to avoid it. Cooper looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Cooper missing with a left hand there. White was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Cooper uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from White. An attempted straight right counter from Cooper misses the target. White moves away from the strike by Cooper. White defending well as Cooper loads up on a big left hand. Cooper throws a lazy right hand but White sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Cooper is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by White.

and White counters with a leg kick. Nice defenses there by White. White looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Cooper misses the shot to the body. A little jabbing left from White on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. We've been informed that White has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Cooper throws out a loose jab but White uses good head movement to avoid it. A big left from Cooper misses. White connects with a leg kick. Cooper looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. A swing and a miss from Cooper. White tries to counter by closing the distance. Cooper looks to land a left hand but White moved out of range nicely. White slips under a jab from Cooper. And White tries to counter it with a takedown but Cooper pushes his down on his head and steps out. Cooper throws a series of punches but White moves out of range. White with the counter takedown but Cooper avoids it easily. Cooper throws a combination that misses and White decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cooper's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cooper is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. White decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cooper, up you get! Cooper lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but White circles away quickly and effectively. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! White lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and White counters with a stiff right hand. Cooper misses with a hook. White ducked under it nicely. Cooper misses with an uppercut. White saw that one coming. Cooper connects with a looping right hand.
White catches Cooper with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Cooper is rocked! Cooper fakes high and swings low for a body shot but White manages to avoid it. White tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Oh Cooper is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Cooper throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and White moves into the clinch. Cooper seems to have got his legs back now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cooper tries to break free but White pushes him back against the cage. White breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. White throws a nice outside leg kick.

Cooper is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. White uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cooper. Cooper lands with a hook. White tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Cooper scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Cooper connects with a right hand. White shakes it off. Cooper throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Cooper wants to get back to his feet but White is dominant here and he's now got Cooper's back! Cooper is trying to get back to his feet but White has full control of the position and if anything, Cooper has just worked his way into a worse spot. What's going on here? White has decided to give up on the ground game despite having his opponent's back!

and White counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Cooper tries to kick White off but White keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. White stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
That's three minutes gone in the round. White uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cooper. Cooper throws a combination but it was largely blocked by White. White flicks out a counter leg kick but Cooper steps away. White buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Cooper chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before White can pounce on him.
Cooper slips under a jab. Cooper misses with a left hand and White counters with a crisp right hand that drops Cooper! White lets Cooper back up to his feet, looking for a finish! White displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cooper throws out the jab. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! White dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cooper. That did some damage! Cooper throws an ugly left hook that misses
and White makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. White has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. White ducks under a wild hook from Cooper. White moves out of range of the strikes.

A close second round but Freddy White will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

and White holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Cooper struggles to land a body shot inside as White controls his hands.
White lands a hook that snaps the head of Cooper backwards. White breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cooper throws a nice looking combination but White bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. White drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Cooper defends it well. Cooper misses with a double jab
and White counters with a nice double leg into guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. White gets to his feet. Cooper looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! A looping hook to the body misses from Cooper. White does a little dance to reset his feet. Cooper moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cooper throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

White feints a jab and as Cooper dips his head, White unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Cooper right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Cooper falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! White smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Freddy White! Our winner, Freddy White, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
