Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Quincy Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Quincy Morrison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Cruz! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruz gets a clinch. Cruz using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Morrison has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Morrison fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Morrison softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Cruz struggles to land a body shot inside as Morrison controls his hands.
Cruz prevents a takedown attempt there.
Morrison jumps guard and drags Cruz to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Morrison trying to keep a closed guard but Cruz is proving a slippery customer.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Morrison holds on and takes a little breather. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Morrison looking to control.
Morrison really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Morrison preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Morrison gets tackled into the cage by Cruz. Cruz maintains the clinch. Cruz struggles to land a body shot inside as Morrison controls his hands.

Morrison looking for a takedown. Cruz pushes off an throws an elbow but Morrison leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Cruz works on Morrison's body with a couple of short punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cruz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Cruz gets a clinch. Cruz lands a shoulder strike. Morrison being controlled against the cage. Morrison lands a right hand. Cruz slowing the pace effectively. The referee calls for Cruz to work.

It looks like Quincy Morrison has been cut. Cruz throws a punch but it's blocked by Morrison.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cruz lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Morrison. Cruz throws a knee to the head but misses.
Cruz pushes Morrison back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Morrison lands a right hand that snaps the head of Cruz backwards. Morrison avoiding damage as Cruz throws knees to the body.

Morrison is fighting it off but Cruz persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Morrison's guard against the cage. Morrison pulls Cruz in close to prevent any damage.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Morrison is trying to keep Cruz in close.
Morrison will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Cruz is looking to stand up but Morrison won't let him. Morrison is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This has been an exciting period of action! Cruz taking some punishment here, with Morrison in his half guard. Morrison prevents Cruz from standing back up.

Cruz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Morrison is controlling him. Morrison lands a couple of decent looking shots. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Morrison scoring with punches to the head and body. Cruz wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Morrison manages to pass to side control. Cruz regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Morrison.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Cruz is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Cruz kicks off Morrison and gets to his feet. The fight moves into the clinch position. Cruz throws an elbow that misses.
Morrison blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Morrison being controlled against the cage. Cruz is trying to push Morrison away but Morrison has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Ricardo Cruz seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. A head punch on the inside from Cruz fails to land. Cruz is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Morrison is defending well for now. Cruz crunches a lovely knee into Morrison's ribcage. Cruz throws a knee to the head but misses.
