PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Dave Caffey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Winston Marrs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marrs has chosen Big Rhino as his entrance music. Winston Marrs told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Winston Marrs!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caffey on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Marrs thuds his shin into the meat of Caffey's side.
Caffey misses with a double jab
and Marrs counters with a stiff right hand.
Caffey throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Marrs counters with a nice body kick.
Marrs scores with a push kick.
A left lands for Caffey.
Marrs scores with a jab. Caffey acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
A slow jab from Caffey misses its intended target.
Caffey throws a shot from downtown. Marrs moves away and avoids it.
Marrs should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Marrs avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Marrs scores with a sloppy right hand. Caffey should have avoided that one.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Caffey throws a jab but it's blocked by Marrs.
It seemed like Marrs was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Dave Caffey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marrs connects with an inside leg kick.

Caffey swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Caffey's jab looks to have found its range, popping Marrs under the eye.

Caffey seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Caffey throws out a loose jab but Marrs uses good head movement to avoid it.

Caffey throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Marrs bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Marrs has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Marrs looks like he wants to counter punch here.
A chopping leg kick lands by Marrs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Caffey throws an off balance right hand
and Marrs counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Caffey is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Marrs's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Caffey misses with an uppercut
and Marrs counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Marrs throws a shot to the body.
Marrs delivers a nice body kick.
Caffey cracks Marrs with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Caffey throws a hook but Marrs blocks it.
Caffey takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Marrs scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Marrs catches Caffey with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Nice jab there from Marrs.
Caffey looks to land a right hand but Marrs moved out of range.
Marrs steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Caffey.
Marrs throws out a counter right but Caffey avoids it with no problem.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Caffey closes the distance and catches Marrs with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Marrs is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Marrs is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Marrs is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Caffey takes it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Dave Caffey!
