Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Takashi Kadota! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcos Anadrade! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kadota scores with a kick to the midsection. Kadota lands a leg kick that knocks Anadrade off balance momentarily. Kadota buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kadota connects with an inside leg kick. Marcos Anadrade seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Anadrade manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kadota on his heels. He'll look to pass Kadota's guard now, I'm sure. Anadrade is looking to advance position but Kadota has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Anadrade is trying desperately to improve position. Kadota working Anadrade over with strikes here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Anadrade tries to lock up and control but Kadota gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Anadrade keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kadota sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Anadrade slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Anadrade trying to control here.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kadota trying to control the action but Anadrade is working from the bottom. Anadrade preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Kadota wants to pass the guard but Anadrade is defending well. Kadota working the head and body with strikes. Anadrade is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. The fighters are battling for position here. Anadrade manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Anadrade looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Anadrade working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kadota. Anadrade is trying to control the position but Kadota postures up. Kadota pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Anadrade is keeping the position for now. Kadota has gone for a leg lock! Anadrade slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kadota's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Anadrade distracts Kadota with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anadrade trying to control but Kadota is working from the bottom. Anadrade engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Kadota throws his legs up looking for a submission but Anadrade uses it to pass to side control.
Kadota is being controlled here. Anadrade tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Anadrade scoring with punches and elbows. Anadrade staying calm. Anadrade tries to move into full mount but can't pass Kadota's legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anadrade wants to control but Kadota is keeping him busy. The referee asks Anadrade politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Anadrade prefers to stall for the moment though. Anadrade lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Anadrade looking to control but instead Kadota has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Anadrade is looking to advance position but Kadota won't allow it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Anadrade wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kadota keeps working. Anadrade throwing shots but Kadota is blocking nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Takashi Kadota will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Kadota goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Anadrade dives in and grabs Kadota's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kadota pushes down on Anadrade's head and hops out. Anadrade shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kadota but Kadota pushes him off and we're back to square one. Anadrade doesn't manage to clinch there - Kadota circles away.
Anadrade looks for a takedown but Kadota sprawls well. Takashi Kadota has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcos Anadrade. Kadota closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Anadrade's guard. Anadrade working a defensive guard here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Anadrade is on top in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anadrade trying to control the position from guard on top but Kadota is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Anadrade chips away with some ground and pound. Kadota keeping moving, preventing Anadrade from controlling successfully.

Marcos Anadrade has got the better of the ground game so far. Kadota working for a triangle but Anadrade defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Anadrade connects with a couple of short punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kadota is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Anadrade stands and throws Kadota's legs to the side, diving into side control. Anadrade trying to control the action but Kadota is working from the bottom. Anadrade takes a little break here. Kadota wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Anadrade trying to control the action but Kadota is working from the bottom. Kadota seems a little lost for a moment, as Anadrade dominates the positioning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kadota gets back to half guard. Anadrade landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Kadota manages to get to full guard.
Anadrade pushes down on Kadota's leg and manages to get into half guard. Kadota keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Anadrade is looking to stall here but Kadota recovers full guard. Anadrade not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kadota has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Anadrade should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kadota has tightened it up now! Anadrade should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Takashi Kadota! After the fight, Takashi Kadota was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
