And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mikkonen Sr gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mikkonen Sr tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Jones blocks an uppercut.

Mikkonen Sr throws a head punch that misses.
Mikkonen Sr misses with some punches.
Jones can't break the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mikkonen Sr works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Jones can't keep his opponent in guard - Mikkonen Sr advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mikkonen Sr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mikkonen Sr working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mikkonen Sr uses his free foot to push down on Jones's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jones.
Mikkonen Sr will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jones is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Mikkonen Sr throwing strikes here but Jones is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Mikkonen Sr lands a heavy elbow.
Jones is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Mikkonen Sr locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Jones is forced to tap!
