Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Vasilyevich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yrjoe Velmu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velmu has chosen Knight Rider Theme Song as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Yrjoe Velmu enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ivan Vasilyevich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yrjoe Velmu!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasilyevich avoids the head kick by Velmu.
Vasilyevich slips a straight right by Velmu.
Vasilyevich shoots in for a double leg but Velmu sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Velmu gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Velmu kicks Vasilyevich off and gets to his feet.
Vasilyevich closes this distance looking for a takedown but Velmu circles away.

Velmu gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Vasilyevich is looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Vasilyevich. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Velmu prevents the takedown attempt.
Vasilyevich tries to pull guard but Velmu forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Velmu using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Vasilyevich has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Vasilyevich goes for a takedown attempt but Velmu pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Velmu gets caught napping as Vasilyevich dives in and scores a takedown. Velmu manages to retain guard.

Vasilyevich prevents Velmu from getting back to his feet.
Vasilyevich lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Velmu looking for a sweep. Not yet Velmu, not yet.
Vasilyevich trying to control the position from guard on top but Velmu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Velmu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vasilyevich manages to get himself to full guard.

Vasilyevich wants to sweep here but Velmu controlling him for the moment.
Velmu won't allow Vasilyevich to get back to his feet.
Velmu would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vasilyevich looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Vasilyevich throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Vasilyevich doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Velmu wants to stand but Vasilyevich has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Velmu wants to stand but Vasilyevich is controlling his posture from full guard.

Velmu stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Vasilyevich feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Velmu is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vasilyevich is controlling him.
Vasilyevich looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Velmu pushes Vasilyevich off and gets back to his feet.
Good standup being displayed there by Velmu as he connects with a hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Velmu's jab looks to have found its range, popping Vasilyevich under the eye.
Vasilyevich goes for a double leg but Velmu avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Velmu continues to drive forward.
Velmu swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Vasilyevich counters with a single leg into guard. Velmu didn't expect that.

Velmu is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vasilyevich goes for a takedown attempt but Velmu pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A left lands for Velmu.
Velmu misses with an attempted mid kick.
Velmu looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Vasilyevich misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Vasilyevich ducks under a wild hook from Velmu.
Vasilyevich keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Velmu looks to throw the jab but Vasilyevich is out of range.

Velmu lands a big head kick that sends Vasilyevich tumbling to the mat! Velmu takes a step backwards and waves Vasilyevich back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Vasilyevich is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Vasilyevich tries to keep at a distance but Velmu has taken the fight into the clinch.
Oh Vasilyevich is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Velmu is pressed up against the cage. Vasilyevich has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Velmu down to the mat. Velmu avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vasilyevich drops his hands momentarily and Velmu needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Vasilyevich just on the top of the head. Vasilyevich drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Vasilyevich - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Yrjoe Velmu!
After the fight, Yrjoe Velmu was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Ivan Vasilyevich was interviewed post fight and said 'I wasnt mentally prepared, ill come back stronger then ever for next fight'.
