Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Orville Fuentes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deair Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deair Shaw will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Orville Fuentes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deair Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Shaw lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Fuentes sprawling to the canvas. Shaw follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Fuentes hang on?


It looks like Orville Fuentes has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fuentes is looking to improve his position.
Fuentes wants to control but Shaw is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Fuentes moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Fuentes holds on and takes a little breather.

Shaw stands and steps away. Fuentes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Shaw is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Fuentes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Fuentes shoots in but no luck this time.
As Fuentes backs off Shaw throws a huge counter combo but Fuentes manages to avoid it all.

Fuentes clinches.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fuentes is trying to pull guard but Shaw turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Shaw escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Fuentes is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Deair Shaw dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Orville Fuentes's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Shaw is looking to land body kicks.
Shaw just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromFuentes.
Shaw has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Fuentes thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Fuentes is looking to work some ground and pound but Shaw has wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fuentes stands and steps away. Shaw gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Fuentes is looking to clinch.

Fuentes doesn't manage to clinch there - Shaw circles away.

Shaw drops Fuentes with a left right combo! Shaw follows him down to the ground into side control.
Fuentes tries to improve position but can't.
Fuentes throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Fuentes throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Fuentes is trying to improve his position.
You can see the frustration on Fuentes's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fuentes manages to work his way to half guard, despite Shaw's best efforts.
Shaw tries to stand and escape but Fuentes actually recovers to full guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fuentes has a closed guard, preventing Shaw from standing up.
Fuentes scores with a short punch from the bottom.
Shaw wants to stand but Fuentes is controlling his posture from full guard.
Fuentes pulls Shaw in to control the position.

Shaw decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Fuentes, up you get!
Fuentes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Shaw swivels and escapes.
Shaw lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fuentes tries to clinch but Shaw is having none of it.

Fuentes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shaw manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

A jab-cross combination lands for Shaw and sends Fuentes crashing to the mat! Shaw follows him down to the mat - Fuentes regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Shaw stands up out of the half guard.
Deair Shaw seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Shaw feints with a jab and clips Fuentes right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Fuentes is sent crashing into the canvas and Shaw leaps in for the kill! Fuentes tries to get to his feet but Shaw is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Fuentes is in need of a savior and steps in!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Deair Shaw!
After the fight, Deair Shaw was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
