Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Harlem Nazaryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Pantera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pantera has chosen Pantera / Domination as his entrance music. Jimmy Pantera is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harlem Nazaryan! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Pantera! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pantera digs a good hook to Nazaryan's body.

Nazaryan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pantera. Pantera slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Nazaryan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Pantera misses with a looping right. Nazaryan tries to counter with a takedown but Pantera is quick to defend against it. Pantera connects with a good right hand that stumbles Nazaryan. Nazaryan circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Nazaryan showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pantera.
Nazaryan changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Pantera throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pantera swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Nazaryan counters with a nice double leg into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nazaryan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Nazaryan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nazaryan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Nazaryan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pantera swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nazaryan trying to control but Pantera is working from the bottom. Nazaryan sitting in guard here, content to control. Nazaryan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nazaryan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Nazaryan definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Nazaryan trying to control the position from guard on top but Pantera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Nazaryan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Pantera looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Nazaryan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Nazaryan trying to control but Pantera is working from the bottom. Nazaryan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Nazaryan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pantera for as long as he can get away with.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pantera lands the left hand. Pantera connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Nazaryan slips a straight right by Pantera. Nazaryan feinted with a counter takedown. Pantera throws out a loose jab but Nazaryan uses good head movement to avoid it. Pantera looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Nazaryan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pantera sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Nazaryan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Pantera slips a straight right by Nazaryan. Pantera swinging wildly here.
Pantera misses with a lunging right hand
and Nazaryan counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Pantera! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pantera can do anything to dispel that myth. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pantera struggling a bit here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nazaryan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nazaryan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Nazaryan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pantera, who protects the arm well. Nazaryan tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Nazaryan staying calm. Nazaryan is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Pantera looks calm but he's in trouble here. Nazaryan gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Pantera is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Nazaryan lets go of the hold and Pantera can pop his arm back in it's socket.
