The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rain chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Preston can pounce on him.
Preston throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
An attempted straight right counter from Rain misses the target. Rain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rain looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Preston throws a shot from downtown. Rain moves away and avoids it. Jab from Preston. Rain lands a nice leg kick that just misses Preston's sensitive parts. Rain moves into range and connects with a jab. Preston misses with an uppercut. Rain saw that one coming. Rain appears to be looking for a counter takedown. We've been informed that Preston has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Rain throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. It seemed like Preston was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Preston connects with a high kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A solid body kick from Rain. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Preston and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. As Rain backs off Preston throws a huge counter combo but Rain manages to avoid it all. Rain misses with a wild combination.

Rain throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Preston stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Preston throws a hook to the side of Rain's head but Rain sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Jab by Rain. Preston throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A punch lands to the side of Preston 's head but he takes it in his stride. Rain looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Preston! Preston bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! This has been an exciting period of action! Rain connects with a solid leg kick. Preston misses with a looping left. Rain lands with a good body shot. Rain keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Preston looks to score with a jab to the body but Rain is just out of range. A jab from Rain misses. Rain ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Preston clinches. Rain lands a left hand that snaps the head of Preston backwards. Rain lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Preston prevents the takedown attempt.

Rain takes one to the chin there. Rain cracks a nice hook into Preston's ribs. Rain tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Preston was well out of range. Poor timing from Rain. Preston misses with a kick to the body and Rain counters with a nice double leg into side control. Preston won't be happy with that. Preston is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Rain asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rain trying to control the position but Preston is working away. Preston pushes Rain away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Rain gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. An elbow from Rain crashes against the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rain wants to control for a moment but Preston uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Preston pushes Rain off looking to stand but Rain dives back in and keeps control.
Rain has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Preston keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Rain landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Rain not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Preston wants to get back to his feet.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Aiden Preston has got the better of the ground game so far. Rain is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Rain tries to pass to full mount but Preston defends it. Preston is looking to escape.

Preston moves into the clinch. Rain goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rain lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Preston backwards. Preston misses with a punch on the inside.

Rain tries to work over Preston's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Preston tries to throw a body punch but Rain avoids it by throwing Preston back against the cage. Rain takes an elbow to the forehead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rain is looking to take this one to the mat. Rain breaks the clinch.
A telegraphed right hand from Rain misses the target. Preston let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Preston connects with the punch. Rain looks to land a right hand but Preston moved out of range. Preston checks a leg kick nicely. Rain bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Preston wants to get back to his feet. Preston tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Preston wants to get back to his feet. Preston is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Rain off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Preston is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Preston trying to get back to his feet but Rain is in full control for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Preston is trying to defend against the choke here but Rain has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Rain Tightens the hold and Preston taps out furiously! Rain displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Titan Rain! Titan Rain retains his bantamweight title! After the fight, Titan Rain was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
