Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matiku Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sammy Lee could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Matiku Kong's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sammy Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matiku Kong!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Darius Henderson and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kong's sensitive parts.

Kong fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lee to the ground. Kong is now in Lee's guard.
Kong is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Lee is trying to control the position but Kong postures up.

Kong drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kong jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kong tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard.
Lee knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kong on the ground.

Kong thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kong showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kong pushes down on Lee's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Lee looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Kong keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Kong is thwarting Lee's attempts to control the position.
Kong passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lee!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kong tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kong with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.

Kong working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Lee turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Kong off and cradles Lee's limp body as Kong celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Matiku Kong!
After the fight, Matiku Kong was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
