Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Vince Cormeck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philippe Leclair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leclair has chosen Drowning Pool - One Finger and a Fist as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vince Cormeck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Philippe Leclair!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cormeck tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Leclair manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Leclair has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Leclair throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cormeck stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Leclair lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cormeck circles away quickly and effectively.
Leclair fails to land with a series of punches.
Leclair circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cormeck looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Cormeck avoids the body shot from Leclair.
Leclair takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Philippe Leclair has been cut.
Cormeck tries to clinch but Leclair moves out of range.
Leclair is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Cormeck moves into the clinch.

Cormeck breaks from the clinch.
Leclair bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Cormeck's head backwards.
Cormeck throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Cormeck rushes Leclair and presses him up against the ropes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Leclair breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cormeck misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cormeck's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Leclair connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Cormeck scrambles back to his feet.

Cormeck is looking to clinch but Leclair is avoiding it.
Leclair now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Leclair scores with a nice strike.
Leclair blocks the body kick.
Cormeck tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Leclair takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Cormeck takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Cormeck uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Leclair.
Leclair throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Leclair is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Cormeck closes the distance and clinches.
Leclair tries to break the clinch but Cormeck is controlling the position.
Leclair wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Cormeck keeps control of Leclair as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Leclair has had enough of the clinch but Cormeck keeps him there for the moment.
Leclair wants to get back to striking at distance but Cormeck won't allow it.

Cormeck goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Leclair escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Leclair ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cormeck moves away.
It looked like Cormeck was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Leclair misses with a hook. Cormeck ducked under it nicely.
Leclair takes a swing at Cormeck's ribcage but misses.
Cormeck lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Leclair swings for the body but Cormeck moves out of range.
Leclair ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Cormeck looks to score with a jab to the body but Leclair is just out of range.
Cormeck fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Leclair has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Cormeck tries to clinch up but Leclair circles away and keeps his distance.
Cormeck throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Leclair on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Cormeck misses with a head kick.
A countering left hand to the body from Leclair misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Vince Cormeck will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Philippe Leclair's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


Leclair swats away the attempt to clinch by Cormeck.
Nice defenses there by Cormeck.

Philippe Leclair seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Cormeck tries to close the distance and clinch up but Leclair swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cormeck lands a head kick that bluckles Leclair and drops him to the canvas. He's still conscious but it looks like it's going to take him the full 10 seconds to get back his senses! He's up on 9 and seems to be just about OK to continue.... the referee agrees and we're back to the action with Cormeck no doubt looking to push for a finish!

Cormeck is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Leclair breaks the clinch.
Cormeck lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Leclair keeps the fight on the outside.
Vince Cormeck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cormeck tries to clinch but Leclair is having none of it.

Leclair throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
