Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deshawn Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Deshawn Shaw! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kyle Carter! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter dives in for a single leg takedown but Shaw sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Shaw looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Carter fails with the takedown. Shaw feinted with a counter takedown. Shaw throws a sloppy head kick and Carter moves out of range easily. Carter is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Carter lands a nice looking kick to the body. Shaw takes a step back to recover. Carter feints and as Shaw raises his hands in defense, Carter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Carter sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Shaw's guard. Carter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Carter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shaw with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Carter wants to free his trapped foot but Shaw is holding on for dear life with his legs. Carter is working for a kimura but Shaw is defending it quite comfortably.
Carter wants to take a breather but Shaw is having none of it. Shaw might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shaw misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Carter lands strikes from half guard. Shaw is in trouble now - Carter has advanced to mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shaw stops Carter from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. BOOM! Carter connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Carter sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Carter lands a big elbow. Shaw's coaches at Cozad The Island have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Carter controlling from the full mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter working away from the top, dropping strikes. Carter blocks Shaw's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Shaw is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Carter controlling his opponent. Carter takes Shaw's back. Carter gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shaw looking very determined here, making life difficult for Carter.
Carter is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Shaw has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. A lull in the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaw is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Carter.
Let's hope that Carter has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Shaw is trying to get back to his feet but Carter has full control of the position and if anything, Shaw has just worked his way into a worse spot. Carter looking for the choke from the back. Carter lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Shaw rolls, trying to escape but Carter keeps control of the position.
Carter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Shaw is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Shaw is trying to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carter looking for the choke from the back. Carter trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Shaw doesn't escape. Shaw really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Shaw trying to get back to his feet but Carter is in full control for now. Carter is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kyle Carter dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Shaw closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Carter's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Carter breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Carter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Carter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Carter lands a decent elbow from side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carter controls the position. Carter tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Shaw on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shaw tries to get out of the position. Carter is looking to take a break and control but Shaw is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shaw wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Carter decides to take the fight back to the feet. Shaw fails with the takedown. Carter shoots for a takedown but Shaw saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Carter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shaw as he jumps to the side. Carter closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Shaw throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Shaw is not content to let Carter control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shaw is looking for a sweep. Carter has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Shaw tries to keep at a distance but Carter has taken the fight into the clinch. Carter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Excellent takedown into side control there by Carter. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Carter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shaw knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Carter is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Shaw will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaw is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Shaw is not content to let Carter control the position. Carter tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Carter wants to control but Shaw is keeping him busy. Carter in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Shaw tries to improve position but can't. Shaw is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Carter is controlling him well. Carter is looking to take a break and control but Shaw is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Shaw is trying to work for a sweep but Carter has mounted him! Carter lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Carter lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Carter can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shaw is looking to escape. Shaw looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kyle Carter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Shaw tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. No luck with that takedown attempt from Carter. Shaw gets caught flat footed, as Carter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Carter controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Shaw trying to strike off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shaw wants to stand and escape but Carter is having none of it. Carter connects with a couple of short punches. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Shaw throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shaw striking off his back but it's not causing Carter any problems. Carter wants to control from the top but Shaw keeps moving. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Carter passes into half guard. Carter uses his free foot to push down on Shaw's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Shaw. Shaw throwing hammer fists to the chest of Carter. What's that going to do exactly? Carter looking to control but Shaw is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Carter cracks Shaw with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Kyle Carter has got the better of the ground game so far. Carter wants to control the pace but Shaw is squirming around nicely. Shaw is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter punishing his opponent with strikes. Carter with shots to the head and body - Shaw looks very uncomfortable down there. Carter looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Carter with good strikes from the mount here! Carter trying to control but he's not successful this time. Shaw is wriggling around trying to escape.
Carter looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Shaw swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Carter lands a heavy elbow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Carter sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Carter lands a nice shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaw is desperately trying to improve his position but Carter has a good base and remains in mount. Carter working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Shaw looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Carter! Submission of the night perhaps?
