Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alexander Quin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Zal! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quin stuns Zal with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Quin connects with a jab. Zal misses with a body shot.
Quin scores with a hook. Zal throws an overhand right that lands on Quin's shoulder, as Quin tries to avoid the shot. As Zal looks to move away, Quin throws a big counter combo but Zal just gets out of the way. Quin defending well as Zal loads up on a big left hand. The fighters circle momentarily. Quin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Zal scores with a sloppy right hand. Quin should have avoided that one. A decent looking cross lands there for Quin. Quin takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Zal looks to score with a jab to the body but Quin is just out of range. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Zal throws a left and a right that both miss
and Quin counters with a lovely shot to the body. Zal misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Quin.
Quin dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Quin scores with a hook to the body. Zal takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zal throws a shot from downtown. Quin moves away and avoids it. Zal has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Zal is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Quin. Zal walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Zal is rocked! Zal misses with a hook
and Quin counters with a lovely straight right hand! Zal is still on wobbly legs! Can Quin finish him? Quin tests Zal's chin there with a solid looking shot. Zal takes a shot right to the bread basket. Zal seems to have recovered his senses. Quin scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Zal misses with an uppercut. Quin saw that one coming. Quin comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Alexander Quin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Quin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zal throws the left hand but Quin avoids the punch easily. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Quin, as that shot connected.
Zal gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Zal connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Quin connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Quin lands a jab to the head.
Good standup being displayed there by Quin as he connects with a hook. Quin connects with a single shot there. Quin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Quin shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Zal eats them both and turns towards Quin to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Quin looks to land a combination but Zal avoids it well. A little jabbing left from Zal on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. A jab from Quin does it's job there. The fighters circle momentarily. Quin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zal throws out a loose jab but Quin uses good head movement to avoid it. Quin lands with a shot to the body. Zal misses with an uppercut. Quin wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Quin works over Zal's head and body with a nice combination. Quin tests Zal's chin there with a solid looking shot. Zal takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A jab from Quin finds it's way through Zal's defenses. A big right from Zal misses. Quin swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Zal moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Quin is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Zal gets cracked there but stands up to it.
This has been an exciting period of action! Quin scores with a crisp jab that stopped Zal in his tracks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quin thuds a left hand into Zal's body. Zal has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Zal takes a swing at Quin's ribcage but misses. Zal throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A quick step to the side and Quin tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Quin lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Nice body punch from Quin. Quin cracks Zal with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Zal takes a jab right on the kisser.

Zal is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Quin with a body shot. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. A slow jab from Zal misses its intended target. Sloppy strikes from Zal. Those never looked like landing. Quin lands a nice hook to Zal's body. Zal takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. A lazy left from Quin finds it's target. Zal throws a sloppy body shot
and Quin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Alexander Quin is winning the standup battle so far. Zal throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Quin lands with a right hand. Quin clobbers Zal with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Quin drops Zal with a huge uppercut! Zal drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Quin is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Quin!
