Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Don Gotti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ed Frettish!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gotti manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Frettish on his heels. He'll look to pass Frettish's guard now, I'm sure.
Gotti not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Frettish bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gotti's guard.


Gotti looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gotti is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gotti is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gotti's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Frettish defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gotti.

Gotti has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Gotti.
Gotti seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Frettish for as long as he can get away with.
Frettish keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Frettish displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gotti.
Gotti uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Frettish.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gotti.
Gotti content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Gotti tries to move to mount but Frettish blocks the move with his legs.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Gotti is stinking the place up with his stalling.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gotti trying to control but Frettish is having none of it.
Gotti sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Frettish can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gotti throwing strikes here but Frettish is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Gotti controlling the pace for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Frettish is squirming around, avoiding Gotti's attempts to control the action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gotti sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Gotti can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Frettish is looking to escape.

Frettish is desperately trying to improve his position but Gotti has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Gotti misses with a takedown attempt
and Frettish counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Gotti definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Frettish misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gotti drops down looking for a counter takedown but Frettish sprawls and moves away.

Gotti shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Gotti will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gotti tries to pass the half guard into mount. Frettish knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gotti takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Gotti in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Frettish tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Gotti!
