Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Conor McGregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julian Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGregor kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Foggy Dew. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
40 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Conor McGregor ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Julian Reis! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Eddie Farnsworth and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Reis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Reis is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. McGregor misses with a straight right. Reis with the counter takedown but McGregor avoids it easily. Reis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McGregor defends it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGregor misses with a body kick. Reis changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Reis is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Reis passes easily into side control. Nice work. Reis tries for a kimura but McGregor is defending well. Reis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McGregor , who protects the arm well. Reis in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. McGregor tries to escape but Reis is in control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGregor parries the strikes from Reis easily there. Reis is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable McGregor to escape.
Reis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Reis is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, McGregor has escaped the position, nice work there. Reis throws an elbow but McGregor slips to the side and avoids it well. Reis looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Reis swings around for an armbar but McGregor sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Reis's guard. McGregor knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reis on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reis has a closed guard, preventing McGregor from standing up. Reis is working an open guard so McGregor takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Reis takes a shot right to the bread basket. McGregor lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Reis circles away quickly and effectively. Reis misses with a takedown and McGregor counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Reis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and McGregor counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Julian Reis has been cut. Conor McGregor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julian Reis.

That kick from McGregor tenderised Reis's leg. Reis is trying to keep his angry face on. McGregor throws a lazy right hand but Reis sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. McGregor misses with a straight left. McGregor is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Reis can do to turn this around? McGregor throws a leg kick but Reis checks it. That's one minute gone in the round. McGregor moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. McGregor listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Reis tries to score a power double leg takedown but McGregor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Reis somewhat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reis stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from McGregor . Conor McGregor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Reis dodges the punch combination from McGregor .
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGregor with a nice cross. McGregor throws a right and a left that Reis avoids nicely. Reis is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reis swings around for an armbar but McGregor sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Reis's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McGregor wants to get up but he can't break Reis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Reis has his foot on McGregor 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McGregor works his way back into a safe position though. Reis working for a triangle but McGregor defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. McGregor is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Conor McGregor is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Reis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McGregor 's guard. McGregor is defending against the submission attempts here by Reis.
Julian Reis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Reis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Reis works his way into full mount! McGregor on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McGregor tries to get out of the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Reis won't let McGregor get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
And that's the end of the fight! Conor McGregor showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for McGregor , winning every round. Will the judges agree?
