Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Quinten Ely! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Amadeus Venturo! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Ely has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Venturo uses from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Venturo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ely working for a triangle but Venturo defends it easily.
Ely is trying to keep Venturo in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ely pulls Venturo in close to prevent any damage.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Ely forces Venturo back against the cage and clinches. Ely tries to work over Venturo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Ely throws a knee to the head but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Venturo slowing the pace effectively. Ely breaks the clinch.
Venturo tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Ely moves into the clinch. Ely lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Amadeus Venturo has been cut. Ely keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Venturo's efforts to push away. Ely dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Venturo wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Ely takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Ely pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ely fails with the takedown and Venturo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quinten Ely. That's going to take a lot out of him. Venturo works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Ely rushes Venturo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Ely lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Ely stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Ely jumps guard but Venturo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Venturo is trying to force a seperation but Ely has the dominant position. Ely swings away with an uppercut that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ely breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. We've been informed that Venturo has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. A left and a right from Venturo both land. Nice combination. Ely takes the fight into the clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ely avoiding damage.

Ely fails with a takedown attempt. Venturo is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ely looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Venturo is fending him off so far but Ely persists. Nope, Venturo circles away and we're back to standing. Ely shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Venturo pinned against the cage. Venturo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Venturo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ely has time to react. Quinten Ely is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Venturo throws the kick towards the body but Ely avoids it. It looked like Ely was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Ely checks a leg kick. Venturo throws a leg kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ely blocks a leg kick. Ely seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Venturo lands a nice hook to Ely's body. Ely takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Ely tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Venturo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Ely fails with an attempt to clinch.
A jab from Venturo does it's job there. Amadeus Venturo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ely shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Venturo but Venturo pushes him off and we're back to square one. Venturo circles away from the clinch attempt and Venturo counters with a takedown into side control. Ely bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Venturo is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Venturo connects with a crisp jab. Ely fails to land the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ely checks a leg kick. Ely walks into a jab. Venturo throws a low kick but Ely moves out of range easily. Ely fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ely fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Ely needs to keep his hands up - Venturo had a free shot at his head there. A bone on bone clash there as Venturo blocks the leg kick.
Venturo throws a good cross that connects.
Venturo scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Nice takedown defense from Venturo. No joy for Ely on that attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Venturo lands with a shot to the body. Ely fails to land the takedown. Venturo bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Ely tries to close the distance and clinch up but Venturo swats him away and circles back towards the center. Venturo is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Ely's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Venturo connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ely scrambles back to his feet. Ely tries to close the distance and clinch but Venturo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ely is looking to clinch. Ely gets cracked there but stands up to it.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ely is defended easily by Venturo. Ely tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Venturo scores with a nice strike. Amadeus Venturo seems to be getting the better of the standup. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ely is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Venturo let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Venturo smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Venturo with a nice cross. Venturo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Ely. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Ely for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. Venturo working hard to break the clinch. Ely breaks the clinch.

Amadeus Venturo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Venturo lands a nice hook to Ely's body. Ely takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Ely takes one on the button. Ely takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ely with a poor takedown and Venturo counters with a stiff right hand. Ely closes the distance and clinches. Ely changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Venturo fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Ely shoots in looking for a takedown but Venturo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ely's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That kick from Venturo tenderised Ely's leg. Ely is trying to keep his angry face on. Venturo pivots, looking for a leg kick but Ely is out of range and Venturo settles back down. Venturo leaves Ely with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ely tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Venturo swivels and escapes. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Venturo pivots, looking for a leg kick but Ely is out of range and Venturo settles back down. Venturo tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Venturo has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Ely checks the leg kick. Ely wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Ely goes for a double leg but Venturo avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Venturo continues to drive forward.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ely instigates a clinch. Venturo is trying to push Ely away but Ely has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Ely pulls guard. Venturo wants to stand and escape but instead Ely has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Venturo wants to sweep but no luck. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ely is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Ely sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Venturo's guard. Venturo is trying to stand.
And that's the end of the fight! Amadeus Venturo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Venturo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
