FORTITUDE 4 PBP Commentary |
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O'Neil thuds a left hand into Platje's body.
No joy there for O'Neil, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Platje is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
O'Neil darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
O'Neil stuns Platje with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
O'Neil with a jab.
O'Neil swings for the body but Platje moves out of range.
Platje doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Platje moves to clinch but O'Neil breaks away
and Platje takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A jab lands there for O'Neil.
O'Neil works over Platje's head and body with a nice combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
O'Neil throws a jab but it's blocked by Platje.
That's one minute gone in the round.
O'Neil throws a body shot but no joy.
Platje drops his hands momentarily and O'Neil takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Platje is rocked!
O'Neil scores with a hook to the body. Platje takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Platje is still on wobbly legs! Can O'Neil finish him?
Platje looks winded!
Platje glances at the clock... BAM! O'Neil nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Platje crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Platje is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Aidan O'Neil!
