Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Landings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brodie Nickoson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Landings! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brodie Nickoson! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Landings paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Excellent takedown into side control there by Nickoson. Landings is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Landings is trying to control Nickoson's posture but Nickoson avoids it. Landings managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Nickoson.
Landings is looking to reverse the position. Landings is not content to let Nickoson control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Landings tries to get back to half guard but can't. Nickoson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nickoson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's one minute gone in the round. Landings wants to control but Nickoson postures up. Nickoson is staying tight to Landings's torso, preventing him from escaping. Landings tries to bench press Nickoson off him but Nickoson keeps the position. Nickoson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Landings is trying to control Nickoson's posture but Nickoson avoids it. Landings is looking to reverse the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Landings manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Landings tries to pass the half guard into mount. Nickoson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Nickoson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nickoson. Nickoson pulls Landings in close to his closed guard and prevents Landings from doing any damage or advancing position. Landings wants to control from the top but Nickoson keeps moving. Landings drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Nickoson dives on top into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nickoson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Nickoson postures up in Landings's guard and throws a big left but Landings blocks it. Nickoson throws an elbow that misses. Landings uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nickoson's guard. Nice move by Landings! Nickoson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Landings is fighting to break Nickoson's control of his arms but Nickoson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Landings tries to free his leg and advance position but Nickoson is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nickoson is pulling down on Landings's head to control his posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Landings working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Landings trying to control the position from guard on top but Nickoson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nickoson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Nickoson trying to control the position here. Landings trying to control but Nickoson is working from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nickoson pulls Landings in close to prevent any damage. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Landings sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nickoson's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jason Landings will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Landings lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Nickoson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Landings tries to sprawl but Nickoson drives through with a takedown into half guard. Landings is trying to maintain the position but Nickoson is very close to passing his half guard. Landings wants to improve his position but Nickoson is controlling well.
Nickoson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Nickoson working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Landings's thigh. Landings counters though and makes it back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Landings is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Nickoson is pushing down on Landings's leg trying to pass to half guard. Landings is fighting to maintain full guard but Nickoson has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's one minute gone in the round. Landings blocking the ground and pound attempt from Nickoson. Landings won't allow Nickoson to pass to mount. Well, if Nickoson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Landings is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Nickoson jumps into side control! You can see the frustration on Landings's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Nickoson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Landings tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Nickoson working away. Nickoson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Nickoson swings around for an armbar but Landings sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nickoson's guard. Landings has gone for a leg lock! Nickoson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Landings's guard. Nickoson forces his way into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nickoson in particular looking to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nickoson is working for a submission of some sort.

Brodie Nickoson has got the better of the ground game so far. Nickoson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Landings is looking for a sweep. Nickoson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Nickoson trying to control the action but Landings is working from the bottom. Landings looking for submissions off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Nickoson is looking to advance position but Landings won't allow it. Nickoson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Nickoson moves nicely into side control. Nickoson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Landings knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Nickoson working away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nickoson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brodie Nickoson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Nickoson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Nickoson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Nickoson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Landings. Landings pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. And Nickoson tries to counter it with a takedown but Landings pushes his down on his head and steps out. Landings misses with a jab, cross combination.
Landings jabbing away but nothing is landing. Landings throws a looping overhand right but Nickoson ducks down to avoid it. Nickoson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Landings! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nickoson moves into full mount! Nickoson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Nickoson scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Landings holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Nickoson tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Landings really wants to buck Nickoson off and get back to his feet. Nickoson throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Brodie Nickoson. I think Nickoson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
