Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ike Riddell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Johnson! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Columbo Gatti and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riddell avoids the head kick by Johnson.
Riddell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Johnson tries to clinch and Riddell decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard. Riddell controls from within his opponent's guard. Johnson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Johnson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Riddell is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Johnson. Riddell stands up and we're back to a striking position. Riddell cracks a nice hook into Johnson's ribs. Johnson looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Riddell clinches up with Johnson and pushes him back against the ropes. Riddell wants the takedown. Johnson is fighting it off but Riddell persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Johnson's guard against the ropes. Riddell's corner is telling him to maintain position. Riddell forces his way into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Riddell is taking a breather. Johnson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Riddell prevents Johnson from standing back up.
Johnson tries to roll over but Riddell keeps him under control. Riddell wants to stand up but Johnson is controlling the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Riddell passes easily into side control. Nice work. Riddell thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Riddell has knee on belly and moves into mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Riddell takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Riddell with the ground and pound from mount. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Riddell looking to control and managing it successfully. Johnson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ike Riddell dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!

and Riddell counters by clinching up. Riddell drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Johnson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Riddell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Riddell is looking to clinch but Johnson is avoiding it.
Anthony Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Riddell holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Johnson takes a shot to the head. Johnson has Riddell pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Riddell manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Riddell manages to break the clinch.
A head kick by Johnson misses and Riddell counters by clinching up. Riddell stalls. Johnson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. Riddell breaks the clinch.
Johnson is breathing heavily. Johnson wants to clinch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson keeps the fight on the outside. Riddell doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnson circles away.
Riddell instigates a clinch. Johnson takes a knee right on the jaw!
Riddell connects with a nasty looking knee right to Johnson's face.

Riddell content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Riddell lands a knee to the head.
Riddell scores with a shoulder strike. Riddell with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Riddell scores with a nice hook to the head. Riddell breaks the clinch.
Riddell moves into range and clinches up with Johnson. Riddell lands a knee to the body.
Riddell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Johnson swats away the attempt to clinch by Riddell. Riddell closes the distance and pushes Johnson back into the ropes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Riddell scores with a knee to the head.
Johnson takes a knee right on the jaw!
Johnson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Ike Riddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Johnson. Riddell lands a knee to the head.
Riddell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ike Riddell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Riddell throws a nice head kick!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The fight moves into the clinch position. Riddell lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Riddell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Riddell forces Johnson back against the ropes and clinches. Riddell is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Johnson can do to turn this around? Johnson taking a breather. Riddell lands a nice knee to the body. Riddell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Riddell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Riddell wants to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riddell closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Johnson fails to pull guard.
Riddell manages to pull guard.
Riddell has Johnson pulled in close to control his posture. Riddell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnson's guard. Riddell is stalling in the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson has a closed guard, preventing Riddell from standing up. Riddell controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Johnson is striking but Riddell is not phased and passes to half guard. Riddell throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Riddell perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Johnson trying to control but Riddell postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ike Riddell dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Johnson throws a lazy head kick and Riddell counters with a straight right hand. Johnson closes the distance but Riddell moves to the side and Riddell counters with a hugh head kick that removes Johnson from consiousness! A brutal head kick knockout!
