The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Barklong!
Barklong is not content to let Edwards control the position.
Edwards is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Barklong has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barklong can't do much from the bottom here.
Barklong is looking to reverse the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Edwards controlling from side mount.
Edwards works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Edwards thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Edwards throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Edwards throws an elbow but Barklong slips to the side and avoids it well.
Edwards sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Barklong is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Edwards has hold of Barklong's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Barklong tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Edwards cranks the arm and Barklong screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Barklong, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
