Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Bernard Crenshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Rodriguez!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick there by Crenshaw.
Crenshaw takes one on the button.
No joy there for Rodriguez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rodriguez takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Crenshaw definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Rodriguez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Crenshaw manages to avoid it.
We've been informed that Rodriguez has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Rodriguez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Rodriguez takes a swing at Crenshaw's ribcage but misses.
Rodriguez uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Crenshaw.
Crenshaw dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rodriguez. That did some damage!
Sloppy strikes from Rodriguez. Those never looked like landing.
Rodriguez throws a right and a left that both miss.
Crenshaw moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Crenshaw throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rodriguez sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rodriguez lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Rodriguez scores with a nice strike.
Crenshaw looks to land a left hand but Rodriguez moved out of range nicely.

Crenshaw throws the kick towards the body but Rodriguez avoids it.

Crenshaw scores with a head kick. Rodriguez tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Crenshaw throws out a loose jab but Rodriguez uses good head movement to avoid it.
Crenshaw lands a head kick. Rodriguez smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Crenshaw's corner calls for a 1-2. Crenshaw obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A looping hook to the body misses from Rodriguez. Crenshaw does a little dance to reset his feet.
Crenshaw blocks a head kick by Rodriguez.
Rodriguez looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Crenshaw lands with a cross.


Rodriguez is rocked!
Crenshaw is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Rodriguez moves out of range of the body kick from Crenshaw.
Crenshaw looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Rodriguez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Crenshaw connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Rodriguez is still on wobbly legs! Can Crenshaw finish him?

Rodriguez takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Crenshaw closes the distance and catches Rodriguez with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Rodriguez is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Rodriguez is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Rodriguez is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Crenshaw takes it!
