Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Andre Galvao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rhea Garcia Jr!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Galvao closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Galvao stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Galvao jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Garcia Jr walks away with a smile on his face. Galvao gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Galvao pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Galvao throws a shot from downtown. Garcia Jr moves away and avoids it.
Garcia Jr moves out of range of the leg kick from Galvao.
Galvao has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Garcia Jr doesn't manage to clinch there - Galvao circles away.
Galvao displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Garcia Jr.
Galvao is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Garcia Jr.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Garcia Jr has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garcia Jr throws out a loose jab but Galvao uses good head movement to avoid it.
Galvao with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Garcia Jr to score with a decent uppercut.
Garcia Jr fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Garcia Jr lands with a nice combination. Galvao backs away looking to recover.

Garcia Jr looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Galvao!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Galvao regains half guard.
Galvao makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Galvao.

Galvao has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Garcia Jr doesn't defend quickly enough and Galvao has managed to lock this one up! Can Garcia Jr escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Galvao on a fantastic submission victory.
