Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Morrison Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dick Pound (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lee might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Pretender. Dick Pound told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pound throws the left hand but Lee avoids the punch easily.
Lee slips under a jab from Pound.
Lee is looking to counter punch.
Lee swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pound now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Lee scores with a jab to the body.
Lee lands with a slapping head kick.
Lee just misses with a punch to the body.
Pound moves out of range as Lee throws a body kick.
Pound has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Pound takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Lee tries to bum rush Pound with a series of wild strikes but Pound uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A looping hook to the body misses from Pound. Lee does a little dance to reset his feet.

Pound uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lee.

Pound cracks Lee with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

I was talking to Lee's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Lee breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Pound connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Pound throws a low kick, looking for Lee's leg but Lee calmly moves out of range.
Pound ducks right into an uppercut from Lee.

Lee bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A low kick from Pound is predictable there
and Lee counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Pound on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lee. Lee obviously looking to wear him down.

Pound turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Lee throws a big counter combination but Pound scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Lee moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pound walks straight into a right hand from Lee - that's dropped him! Lee jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Pound from any more punishment! Pound complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Morrison Lee!
