Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Gary Jack enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mike Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gary Jack! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jack clinches with his opponent.
Jack successfully pulls guard.
Jack throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Jackson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jack works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jack tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jackson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jackson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Jackson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jackson wants to pass the guard but Jack is keeping the position. Jackson is breathing heavily. Jack wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jack really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jack looking for a sweep. Not yet Jack, not yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jack is trying to keep Jackson in close.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson is nestled in close to Jack, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Ground and pound from Jackson. Jack throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jack trying to hold on to Jackson's head to control him but Jackson postures up.

Jackson looks to land a strike but Jack avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Jack is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jack wants to stand but Jackson is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jack is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jack utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Jack looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Jackson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jack defends well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jack decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jackson, up you get! A momentary lapse in concentration from Jackson enables Jack to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jackson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Jack stopping the sweep attempt from Jackson. Jack working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Jack stands and steps away. Jackson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Jack gets the takedown into side control. Jackson tries to bench press Jack off him but Jack keeps the position. Jack wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackson keeps working. Jackson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jackson prevents Jack from moving into mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson can't do much from the bottom here. Jackson tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Jack presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Jack prevents Jackson from getting the reversal. Jack wants to control the pace but Jackson is squirming around nicely. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jackson is working to get back to half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jack is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gary Jack dominated that round. That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Jack bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Jack trying to control the action but Jackson is working from the bottom. Jack decides to stand back up. Jack shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Gary Jack has got the better of the ground game so far. Jack takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jack is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Jack stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Jackson to get to his feet. Mike Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jack tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's one minute gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Jack. Jack tries to advance to mount but Jackson denies him. Jack stands up and we're back to a striking position. Jack looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Jack trying to control the action but Jackson is working from the bottom. Jack looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Jackson wants to get back to his feet. Jackson is not content to let Jack control the position. Jackson is trying to stand up here but Jack is controlling him well. Jack winds up and cracks Jackson with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Jackson won't allow Jack to pass to mount. Jackson is looking to control Jack's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jackson avoid being mounted? Jack is looking for a kimura but Jackson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jack to get the leverage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson is trying to maintain the position but Jack is very close to passing his half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Jack prevents Jackson from standing back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jack throws a right and a left that both miss. Nice body kick from Jack. Jack shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson's guard. Jack sitting in guard, not really doing much. Jack prevents Jackson from getting back to his feet. Jack lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Gary Jack showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jack.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jackson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jack closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jackson did well to prevent Jack getting side control. Jackson manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Jack keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Stalling in the clinch from Jack.
A frustrated look appears on Jackson's face as he tries to break the clinch. Jack pulls guard. Jackson won't allow Jack to sweep him here. Jack throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jackson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Jackson dodges the punch combination from Jack.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Jack lands a head kick!

Jack gets control of Jackson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jack will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Jack trying to control the position.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mike Jackson. Well Jack has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
